Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

There’s nothing that gets me in the Christmas “spirit” quite like this delicious drink. Every year I make a batch intending to gift it to friends and family but it rarely makes it out the door. It’s so delicious and it goes down really easily, so feel free to double the recipe.

What you need:

  • 4 cups of apple cider
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 750 ml bottle Sailor Jerry’s rum. You can use another rum for a less spicy mix. Use Everclear for a higher alcohol content. You can use whiskey or brandy too.

In a large pot on the campfire or stove, heat the cider, apple juice, sugar and spices. Boil for ten minutes.

Allow to cool to room temperature. Add the Rum or other alcohol.

Wash jars and dry. Boil lids in a pot of water for 10 minutes.

Place a cinnamon stick in each jar and top up with apple pie moonshine. Keeps in the fridge for up to 6 weeks. Happy Holidays!
