Panda Power Solar Farm is Adorable!

Check out this Solar Power Plant in Datong, China which is shaped like a panda. The first phase of this Panda Power clean energy project offers 50 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. When complete, the farm will have a capacity of 100 MW. The black areas are made from monocrystalline silicone solar cells, while the grey and white areas are made of thin-film solar cells. The farm was designed to provide clean energy and bolster the popularity of solar power among China’s youth.

The Panda Power Plant will provide 3.2 billion kilowatt-hours of solar energy over 25 years which will mean 1.056 million tons of coal will be saved and 2.74 million tons of greenhouse gases will not make it into the atmosphere.

This is just the first of several power plants the company intends to build over the next couple of years.
