What you need:
- 8 Tablespoons of shea butter
- 6 Tablespoons of coconut oil

In a double boiler, over a low heat, warm the shea butter and coconut oil to a liquid state. Don’t have a double boiler? Float a metal or glass bowl containing the ingredients in a small pot of water.
Remove from stove and add the sweet almond oil and mix. Put the bowl in the fridge until the oils have solidified. Use a mixer to whip the oils to the desired consistency.
If you like, add 10 drops of lavender essential oil. You’ll smell yummy and the antibacterial properties will help heal cuts and spots.

What you need:
- ½ cup water
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 drops tea tree oil

Mix in a Mason jar and use whenever you need a breath of fresh air.
DIY Dashing Deodorant
Antiperspirants really work! You can slather those suckers on and rest assured that you’ll be coming up roses no matter what you get up to today. The chemical composition of the antiperspirants however, do have some rather unfortunate consequences. Researchers at Reading University discovered a link between antiperspirants and breast cancer due to the fact that antiperspirant chemicals such as as zirconium and aluminium are absorbed through the pores. Zinc has also been linked to the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
What you need
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 2 tablespoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- Empty antiperspirant container or plastic container.
Method
Mix them together and pour them into the container. Place them in the fridge until solid. Voila! Instant antiperspirant.
