If you like you daily man-tenance regimen to be natural, the best way to ensure you aren’t using nasty chemicals is to make it your own damn self. Here is a great guide to everything you need to keep you looking even more handsome. 100% Manly. 100% Natural.

DIY Shaving Cream

What you need:

  • 8 Tablespoons of shea butter
  • 6 Tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of sweet almond oil

In a double boiler, over a low heat, warm the shea butter and coconut oil to a liquid state. Don’t have a double boiler? Float a metal or glass bowl containing the ingredients in a small pot of water.

Remove from stove and add the sweet almond oil and mix. Put the bowl in the fridge until the oils have solidified. Use a mixer to whip the oils to the desired consistency.

If you like, add 10 drops of lavender essential oil. You’ll smell yummy and the antibacterial properties will help heal cuts and spots.

DIY Super Sexy Toothpaste

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (fine)
  • 1 drop peppermint essential oil
  • A few drops of water

If you only have course sea salt, then grind it down in a mortar and pestle or in your coffee grinder. Mix these up in a little bowl until you get a paste. Smear onto your toothbrush and there’s a party in your mouth!

DIY Cool as Ice Mouthwash

Of all the things that lurk in your bathroom cabinet, both toothpaste and mouthwash have a warning to see the poison control center if they are swallowed. That’s just not right! So here is a super minty fresh mouthwash that will cure even the most loathsome cooties.

What you need:

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 drops tea tree oil
  • 2 drops peppermint essential oil

Mix in a Mason jar and use whenever you need a breath of fresh air.

DIY Dashing Deodorant

Antiperspirants really work! You can slather those suckers on and rest assured that you’ll be coming up roses no matter what you get up to today. The chemical composition of the antiperspirants however, do have some rather unfortunate consequences. Researchers at Reading University discovered a link between antiperspirants and breast cancer due to the fact that antiperspirant chemicals such as as zirconium and aluminium are absorbed through the pores. Zinc has also been linked to the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

What you need

  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Empty antiperspirant container or plastic container.

Mix them together and pour them into the container. Place them in the fridge until solid. Voila! Instant antiperspirant.
