DIY Organic Bug Spray Recipe

Make your own natural insect repellent for a bug-free summer

If you get creeped out about spraying poison that can floor a mosquito all over your skin, all over your kids just before getting it in your mouth by accident, here’s a great solution: Natural Homemade Bug Spray. You can make this handy homemade bug spray in no time at all and it keeps indefinitely.

What you need:

  • 12 drops lemon eucalyptus oil
  • 12 drops citronella oil
  • 12 drops orange oil
  • 1/2 cup witch hazel

Place ingredients in a spray bottle and apply liberally. Kids under two may have reactions if they have sensitive skins, so spray on their strollers instead.

Camping? Make friends and influence people around the campfire with meals that are the cat’s pj’s. Get your copy of the Flaming Marshmallow’s Guide to Campfire Cooking.
