Sure you can spend a fortune on commercial beauty products that Cindy Crawford swears by or which are clinically proven to reduce blah blah blah or you can make your own. Making your own green living products means you save money, use only natural ingredients and create less waste. You can pit our green living hand products against the best creams and concoctions in the industry to see which works for you.

Keep your nails long and strong with this green living recipe. Our green living nail strengthener recipe yields 20-30 applications.

  • 2 teaspoons castor oil

Green Living Natural Hand Soap

Make your own liquid hand soap which won’t dry out your skin or nails. It’s easy peasy!

  • 10 cups of water
  • 1 bar Castile soap (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin
  • 10 drops of essential oil like lavender or lemon verbena

Make your green living hand soap by bring 5 cups of water to the boil. Turn off the heat and add the grated Castile soap and glycerine. Stir until the soap is completely dissolved. Remove the pot from the stove and leave to cool. When it is cool to the touch, add essential oil and mix your green living soap well. Don’t be surprised if it’s a little lumpy. Leave it overnight to cool. Blend it in the blender and add water until it is smooth and the consistency you want. Use it in a hand soap pump. This green living hand soap is safe to use while camping and for children.

Thank you so much Nikki I’ve been hoping you would post something like this but didn’t want to ask. I’ll give you feedback after I’ve tried it, it’s winter here and my cuticles are dried and peeling. Yes even guys need a little help 🙂 P.S. the cider vinegar hair conditioner works like a charm, thank you
