Its Tub Time Baby! [DIY Bath Recipes]

Whether you are looking for some Lebowski level relaxation or just need a moment to yourself, take time this week to luxuriate in a lovely bath. Light some candles, crank up the whale sounds and let your cares melt away. Here are some awesome bath-time products that you can make yourself. Remember; sharing is caring so be kind to the environment and share your bath with a friend.

Bath Bombs (fizzies)

  • 8oz of cornstarch
  • 4oz of baking soda
  • 4oz of citric acid
  • 3oz of cocoa or shea butter,
  • 3 tbsp. of almond oil
  • 3 tbsp. of coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp. essential oil (optional)

In a plastic bowl, mix the cornstarch, baking soda and citric acid really well. Add the shea butter, almond and coconut oils and mix into a dough. You can add your essential oils for scent (any kind you fancy) and you can add some natural food coloring if you want colored bath bombs. Now you can press them into a small muffin tin, or an ice cube mold and leave to dry for 24 hours. Keep them in a sealed container.

Sugar Scrub

What you need:

  • ½ cup course brown sugar
  • ¼ cup coconut oil

Mix ingredients and rub onto the skin in a circular motion to remove dead skin cells.

* Add used coffee grinds to reduce cellulite.

Banana Face Mask

What you need:

  • ¼ cup plain organic yogurt
  • 3 tbsp. honey
  • 1 medium banana

Mash up the banana and mix well with other ingredients. Gently apply to the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse and pat your face dry.
